The Downley Jubilee Allotments have been operating for over 30 years and are a valuable community asset for residents' leisure time.

Downley Community Library

The Downley Community Library was set up in 2004 under the umbrella of Downley Old School Community Association. At present the library is open on the following days.

We have an exceptional range of children's plus a full range of adult books, both fiction and non-fiction. In addition we have full broadband connection to the Internet with two computers available for use by the public. Other items that may be of interest is a small stock of audio tapes and jigsaws. We also run a 'Story Time' for the Mother & Toddlers group on Monday morning.

Our charges for each book loan is 20p per book and for the Internet it is £1.00 for half an hours use.

Downley Neighbourhood Watch Association

The Association meets every four months at St James Hall, Plomer Hill, 7.30 for 8.00pm.

There is usually a speaker and when possible one of the local Beat Officers and/or PCSOs are encouraged to be present.

The Association is an independent body of accredited neighbourhood Watch Co-ordinators within the Downley Beat Area. The aim of the association is to provide an additional dimension to traditional Neighbourhood Watch duties, including mutual support for Co-ordinators and deputies, to work with Thames Valley Police and other authorities, and to foster a caring and active community.
