Old Post Office wins house-building award
Three cottages built on the site of the old Post Office in the village conservation area close to the common at Downley have been voted the best new small housing development across six counties.
The row of three brick and flint terraced houses built by a local family-owned company called Christine Homes has won the regional heats in its category for this year’s Local Authority Building Excellence Awards.

Attack by armed robbers at the Co-op
A supermarket staff member was left with a head injury after armed robbers broke in and stole cash in Downley. Two men walked into the Co-op on Plomer Green Lane on Sunday morning at around 6.30am and assaulted the staff there before fleeing the scene with cash.

Handycross Weekend Closure Postponed
Due to the poor weather forecast, the remaining works at the Handy Cross roundabout for this weekend have been cancelled (Friday 2 to Monday 5 March).
We will be working with Buckinghamshire County Council, Wycombe District Council and Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead to re-programme the outstanding works as soon as possible.

Travellors set up camp on Pedestal playing fields
Travellers have set up camp on a popular playing field in West Wycombe. Caravans and other vehicles were seen entering the Pedestal Playing fields, which is home to football team Downley Dynamos, at 9.15am today (Wednesday).
