Latest News - June 2022

The relaunch of the Monday morning baby and toddler group as "Monday Minis" has been hugely successful thanks mainly to the efforts of Caroline & Kimberley.

Their enthusiasm has been exceptional not only in attracting new users to the Centre but by also joining the management committee bringing some much needed younger blood and ideas. Thank you also to Caroline & Kimberley for cranking up the Centre's Facebook presence which has already raised further awareness of the Centre to the local community.

Bookings are now at record pre-pandemic levels. In order to demonstrate the facilities offered at the centre, a new video has been professionally produced (without charge) by our caretakers Dave and Emma. The video tour with commentary is designed to anticipate new hirers questions before they even ask! A big thank you to Dave and Emma.

The Community Centre has also recently established a formal grant funding scheme to support local community projects.  Any Downley area club or association may apply if they are looking for financial support for a local, non-profit activity or initiative that directly benefits the local community.

In the first instance please contact us on grants@downleycommunitycentre.org.uk or download an application form here.  The committee will assess proposals for all projects on a monthly basis. You can read or dowload our grants policy guidelines here.
