Autumn News September 2023

The Autumn season has now started and all our usual activities have now restarted following the Summer recess.

With over 30 regular hirers a week and 16,000 visitors per year, the centre is a place that hosts various activities ranging from toddler groups, art classes, dance lessons, the ever popular beer and wine club and houses a community library that boasts a large collection of fiction, non-fiction and educational books.

Being a non-profit charity, DOSCA has donated over the past 12 years more than £5000 to local clubs and activities without increasing hire rates.

If you would like to know more about the facilities we can offer, take the following video tour which will answer many of your questions.

The Community Centre has also recently established a formal grant funding scheme to support local community projects.  Any Downley area club or association may apply if they are looking for financial support for a local, non-profit activity or initiative that directly benefits the local community.

In the first instance please contact us on grants@downleycommunitycentre.org.uk or download an application form here.  The committee will assess proposals for all projects on a monthly basis. You can read or download our grants policy guidelines here.
