Downley-based community charity celebrates 20th birthday
A DOWNLEY community centre celebrated its 20th anniversary last month with a cake cutting event. The Victorian school built 150 years ago was transformed 20 years ago into a 7 days week thriving community centre known as Downley Old School Community Association (DOSCA) in the heart of Downley Village.

Deborah Brewer, a previous editor of the Downley Village News has died at the age of 95. The funeral will be held at the Woodlands burial site in Seer Green on 26 Feb 2021 at 1pm preceded by the cortege around Downley Village from 12pm.

Downley Dynamos boys loses battle with sepsis
Oliver Darlington - an avid Wycombe Wanderers fan - was "fit, healthy and strong" before contracting a "heavy cold" which led to sepsis. The teen, who also played football with Downley Dynamos, spent four days fighting for his life in intensive care in Southampton before he sadly passed away on January 3.

Police launch manhunt after man kidnapped and attacked in Downley
On Tuesday morning at around 12.30am, an 18-year-old man was forcibly walked into a wooded area near to Plomer Green Lane in Downley. He was then attacked by two men. He sustained cuts and grazes to his face but fortunately did not require hospital treatment.

Airing cupboard fire breaks out in Downley
Firefighters were called out after a small house fire took place in Downley on Wednesday, August 21. Two fire engines rushed to the property in Downley Common at approximately 6pm, where a fire in an airing cupboard lead to smoke coming out of the loft.
