Simply Walk – For Health, For Enjoyment, For New Friends
Simply Walk is part of a countywide programme of free, volunteer - led walks, which aim to help people get outdoors and be more active. The walks are all sociable and you don't need any special equipment to join in, just comfortable shoes and suitable clothing for the weather.
Downley Simply Walk has been going for more than 10 years and now has numerous regular walkers that enjoy coming for the fresh air, the exercise and to meet other friendly locals. – depending on the weather we typically have between 15 and 50 people of all ages and all shapes and sizes joining us.
Downley Simply walk runs all year round, whatever the weather, and makes the most of our beautiful common land, woodland, and parkland. Because of this terrain we suggest shoes/boots suitable for walking in muddy conditions are necessary most of the year! We cannot avoid hills in this area but walk leaders choose routes to make slopes accessible and ensure we walk at a pace which everyone can manage.
So if you would like to join us…..
